Alan "Tabby" Craig Tabaracci

September 2, 1945 — October 27, 2022

Alan Craig “Tabby” Tabaracci died of natural causes at the age of 77 on the evening of October 27, 2022. Cremation has taken place at O’Connor Funeral Home. Alan will be buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery with the Tabaracci family.

Alan was born in Great Falls Montana on September 2, 1945, to Alfred and Evelyn Tabaracci. He served in the Vietnam War as a radio operator with the Army 36 th Engineer Battalion and was honorably discharged. He went on to graduate from Northern Montana College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Technical Education.

He will be remembered as a strong, talented man, with a caring heart that loved his family. Had a quick sense of humor with a sharp wit. Alan always enjoyed a good cold beer, Howard’s pizza and watching football. He loved to entertain his sons with tales of the exploits of his youth. Even though it always seemed to rain, he enjoyed vacationing with his family at Swan Lake.

Alan had a passion for cooking and was an amazing chef. The family enjoyed his many culinary creations. His rigatoni, lasagna and povitica were always favorites.  Along with his many other talents, he was a skilled auto mechanic. Many a late night was spent in his garage at home tuning an engine with his sons and their friends. Later in life, Alan enjoyed photography and going on Jeep rides in the mountains together with his eldest son, Alan Jr.

He would have left us all with his favorite words of wisdom. “It is what it is, it ain’t what it ain’t.”

Alan is survived by his three sons, Alan, Robert, and John (Craig). Along with many grandchildren and his former wife Jane.  He was preceded in death by his parents and longtime, close companion, Karin.

A private family gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
