Alma M. Ecklund

Alma M. Ecklund, 82, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2016 at Peace Hospice of complications from Pneumonia and Parkinsons disease. A vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at OConnor Funeral Home. Funeral liturgy will take place on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anns Cathedral. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Alma was born on May 27, 1934 to Clyde and Pearl Bowers. She spent most of her life in Great Falls working for various retail establishments. Her final years were spent volunteering with the YWCAs Thrift Store. Alma was married on June 24, 1950 to John D. Lehman, from which they had two children, Jerry and Kathy. After Johns passing, Alma married Richard D. Ecklund on June 6, 1987 and inherited his wonderful children, Steve, Dyan and Bobbi. Alma was most happy when the family reunited for holidays or summer events and especially times at the family cabin. She was a very loving and caring individual who was always more concerned about those around her than she was of herself. She was unconditionally accepting of others, always the first to forgive and forget. She leaves us with her legacy of kindness and understanding towards all. Survivors include her husband Richard; sons Jerry (Mary) Lehman of Great Falls and Steve Ecklund (Colleen Carmine) of Bozeman; daughters Dyan Ecklund of Anchorage, AK and Bobbi Ecklund of Helena; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; brother Clint Bowers; and daughter Kathy Stokes.
