Andrew “Bill” Aline, 86, of Great Falls passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at a local care center. Visitation will be at O’Connor Funeral Home on Wednesday, 1/18/2017, from 10 am to 5:30 pm and Thursday, 1/19/2017, from 10 am to the beginning of the Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 am Friday, 1/20/2017, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A burial with military honors will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Andy was born June 10, 1930 at Tracy, Montana, the son of Henry and Anna (Kovile) Aline. He grew up and attended schools in Sand Coulee and Centerville. In 1949, he entered the US Navy during the Korean War and was later discharged in 1952. In 1958 he married Marjorie A. Trunkle. He then returned to Montana and went to work for the Great Northern Railroad then the Anaconda Copper Mining Company before working at Blessed Trinity Catholic School. Later he worked for St. Luke’s Catholic Church and then worked for sixteen years at O’Connor Funeral Home. Andy enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and dancing especially to polka music. He was a member of the Eagle’s Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the KSKJ Slovenian Lodge where he was a past president. He was a member at Blessed Sacrament and St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Andy is fondly remembered as “The Mayor of Tracy”. Survivors include three daughters Barbara (Wade) Hawes of Great Falls, Jean (Patrick) O’Brien of Garden Grove, CA, and Patricia (Steve) Gillespie of Great Falls; four sons William (Susan) Aline, Joseph (Polly Kuglin) Aline, Terry (Heather Walters) Aline and Gregory Aline all of Great Falls; sister Betty (Ted) Funyak of Great Falls; twelve grandchildren Theresa, Kelley, Travis, Nicole, Kyle, Jordan, Matthew, Ellie, Lydia, Annabella, Austin and Dalton; three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Helen Hackett, Mary Jean Lynch; and brother-in-law James Trunkle. Andy was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 1998 and nine siblings, Henry, Gertrude, Josephine, Walt, Joe, Tom, Bob, Janice and Annie.
