Angel Manuel Guerra, 65, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at O'Connor Memorial Chapel. Angel Manuel Guerra was born on October 13, 1956. He was the child of Maria America Rivera “Gonzalez” and Alfredo Guerra Y Rodriguez. He was born into life with his two brothers, making him a triplet. During birth, Angel lost his older brother and younger brother and remained what he used to tell his family; “El Solito” or the Lonely One. Angel also has several other brothers and sisters, some of which could not make it today. He leaves behind his brother Alfredo “Speedy,” Adrian, Hector, and Sunny; he also leaves behind his sister Linda, Blanca, and Alga. Just to name a few! He also has many nieces and nephews! At age 18, Angel joined the Army National Guard and rose up the ranks to Quartermaster – Specialist 5 or E5, sergeant. He faithfully served his country for over eight years before hanging up his military boots and making a life with his longtime friend from childhood, Ivonne Guevarez. But not before the United States Military demoted Angel for leaving just one day earlier from his obligation. Ending his career in the United States Army National Guard as a Specialist 4 or E4. Talk about messed up right lol? After being with Ivonne for several years, together they bore their first son, Angel Lee Guerra. Angel Manuel at this point found it prevalent to ask Ivonne for her hand in marriage. She declined his offer. About 10 months after the birth of their first son, their second son was born. His name was Eddie Manuel Guerra. At this point, Angel proceeded to ask Ivonne for her hand in marriage once more. Thinking he actually had a shot, but he was sadly mistaken. Yes, she declined his offer yet again lol. When Angel and Ivonne’s children were two years and one year old, Angel decided to ask Ivonne for her hand once more. Stating to himself that if she declined his offer this third and final time, that he would never ask her again! But to his surprise, she agreed and shortly after, they were wed at Christ the King Church in Bronx, New York. Both Angel Lee and Eddie were too little to view the ceremony but have seen lots of photos and a video during their lifetime to join in on the celebration. All be it many years later! Several years later, Ivonne calls into the single bedroom of their apartment; their sons Angel Lee and Eddie. She proceeds to tell the boys that they will be big brothers. Surprise!!!!!! It’s a baby girl lol. Yet again, Angel and Ivonne bear what would be their final child together; and her name is Sierra Amanda Guerra. Several years before all of this, Angel from his first marriage bore a daughter. Her name was Amy Sandy Guerra, and we love her very much. We were never taught to call her anything other than our sister. And that’s the way it will stay! Moving forward about three to five years, Angel and Ivonne purchase their first home together. Boy were they happy. Many anniversaries, birthdays, Thanksgivings, and Christmases were celebrated with the family together. Yet again, tragedy struck! It was 9-11, and Angel was downtown New York City working as always. Having his morning coffee and breakfast as his route would allow. When he would hear the sirens of emergency vehicles passing him by followed by his tow truck shaking forcibly. It was innocent civilians rushing to Angel’s aid. They jumped onto his vehicle and told him frantically to go. Through his rear-view mirror, Angel saw what he described to his family in a later conversation as the smoke and asbestos of the Twin Towers. Angel turned on his truck and gave it his all. He saved many people that day. About 20 to 25 from his memory! He would never talk about it, and always remained humble to come home to his family; covered in soot and grime from the former World Trade Center in New York City. He parked his car at his house at around six or seven pm that evening and ran out to his family crying hysterically with tears of joy. He was a hero that day, at least to his family! Angel was a Grandmaster of Martial Arts. He studied for many years and taught his children whatever he could to enforce their Martial Sciences Education. He was the founder of the Bodoki Ryu Ninjitsu system, Ninja No Senso Koka-Ryu Ninjutsu system, Black Tigers International Ninja Society, and United Warriors Association. Holding the highest rank in the Martial Arts of 10th Degree Black Belt. As well as bearing the titles of Soke, and Shodai-Soke; meaning the first Grandmaster. Martial Arts was his life and he instilled that into his children. He also held other various ranks and titles. One of which was the very first Martial Arts Style he studied which was called Tung-Fu School of Self-Defense under one of his mentors Soke Raymond Lee Morales. As he got older, he decided to go into what he would tell his kids as semi-retired from the Martial Arts lol. Although we always knew he would always be drawn to it. Before retiring fully, Angel received his doctrine in the Martial Arts. But never liked the title professor! In fact, the only time someone knew he even had it was when he issued documentation to them. Not too many people know this, but Angel was in fact an Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church out of Modesto, California. He rose to the dignity of Cardinal of the Church. Angel was so very proud of his status as a minister. His family is very proud of his life achievements as well. Several years pass, and Angel gets into an accident while working. He then retires from work and spends all his free time at home. After biding his time, as well as not knowing where he should go for his retirement, and with his eldest son Angel Lee and his new wife moving across the country to where the buffalos roam. Angel and his wife Ivonne decide to move to Great Falls, Montana, along with their daughter, Sierra. Son, Eddie and his wife Maya remained in New York City. Angel and his family made the trek across the United States. Angel, Ivonne, and their daughter Sierra settled into a nice two-bedroom apartment in town. And this is where he and his family lived until just after the beginning of the new year in 2021, in March of all months. When his son, Angel and his wife Jessica decided to move closer to family which was conveniently closer to work for them. They along with Angel’s grandson, MJ, move into the building next to them. It was good times and remained so until tragedy struck the Guerra family once more. Angel got sick, along with his wife and daughter. The Covid-19 virus is strong! Ivonne and Sierra received treatment and was able to return home; Ivonne luckily was not infected with the virus. She only had bad Asthma! Angel however remained, He struggled valiantly, fighting his symptoms to the very end. But alas, he lost his battle! He lived well and left us tragically. Rest now, Angel, for you are no longer in pain. The suffering has finally ended! Angel Manuel Guerra is survived by his wife, Ivonne; and all of his children along with their spouses, Amy her husband, Jamele, Angel Lee and his wife, Jessica Lee, Eddie his wife, Maya, and Sierra. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
