During Annas teen years, she was also raised by her aunt and uncle, Georgia and Earl Whittill in Philadelphia, PA. She went to various schools in Philadelphia, Maryland, and Delaware. On July 22, 1943, she met Martin William Asmus of Power in Delaware, Md. On April 9, 1944, they were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Power. Anna was a member of the Power Zion Lutheran Church and Fairfields St. John Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and was active in the Lutheran Womens Missionary League in Power. She enjoyed writing poetry of all types for community events, anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Her particular specialty was patriotic poems because of her love of her country and because her husband had served in the Army Air Corp. She wrote social news and poetry for the Fairfield Times for many years. She loved playing hymns on her harmonica and giving recognition to her Lord and Savior in almost every poem. Anna is survived by her daughters, Marilyn and son-in-law Richard Dickhoff of Great Falls, Shirley and son-in-law Robert Dickhoff of Chehalis, WA; sister Mary Moffett of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren Lisa (Jeff) Belling of Apple Valley, CA, Michelle (Scott) OHara of Chehalis, WA, Scott (Rachelle) Dickhoff and Todd Dickhoff of Great Falls, and Chad (Pattey) Hoff of Chehalis, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Moffett; her husband, Martin in 1995; a daughter Darlene in 1954; four brothers, John, David, Edgar, and Jim; and five sisters Georgia, Evelyn, Reba, Mildred, and Ruth. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in Power or St. Johns Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
