Annie Theresa (Murnion) Habel, 81, of Great Falls, MT, a retired X-Ray technologist, passed away June 7, 2017 from an accidental fall in her home. Visitation will be 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at O’Connor Funeral Home; followed by a vigil service beginning at 6:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 am on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Annie loved bright colors.The family requests that those attending the services wear colorful clothing.Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Annie was born November 26, 1935 in Jordan, MT to Patrick and Rose Ellen (Cunningham) Murnion. She was raised on the family ranch in Jordan with her five sisters and two brothers.She attended country school and graduated from Garfield County High School in 1954.She moved to Great Falls, with three of her sisters joining her, and attended Columbus Hospital School of X-Ray Technology, graduating in 1956.She was a member of the first graduating class. Throughout her 44 year career as an X-ray technologist, she worked for Dr. Frank M. Petkevich, and then Urologic Associates with Dr. Hugh Anderson, Dr. Robert Kohler, and Dr. John Stone; working the majority of her career with Dr. James Bull.She finished at Great Falls Clinic the last year of her career, retiring in 2000. After beginning her work life in Great Falls, she met S. Roger Habel and they were united in marriage November 25, 1967.They were later divorced and shared a loving friendship until his death in 1999.Annie and Roger welcomed a son, Patrick Sidney in 1971 and a daughter, Francine Rose in 1976.Their family enjoyed many years together camping, snowmobiling, and many other outdoor activities.Annie became adept at preparing, packing, cooking, and unpacking meals every weekend. Annie’s hobbies included watching all of her grandsons’ activities; especially watching them play their different sports.She wouldn’t miss a game and she was their #1 Fan, always in the crowd supporting them!Her grandsons, Keaton, Brady, Carson, and Jaxon, were the light of her life.She was a caregiver to all four of them from birth, and they will each remember a multitude of special times with Grandma Annie.No grandsons could be more loved. Annie also enjoyed visiting with her many close friends and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, being outdoors, camping, and creating hand made rugs and trivets. We will miss her banana bread and cookies, which accompanied so many people on sports and hunting trips…or just because. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for 58 years, later becoming a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.She was a part of Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society.She loved helping out wherever she was needed. Annie is survived by her son Patrick (Leah) Habel and their sons Keaton and Brady; daughter Francine (Bob) Polacek and their sons Carson and Jaxon, all of Great Falls, MT; her sisters Marge (Bob) Jorgenson of Roundup, MT, Patsy Murnion of Great Falls, MT, Maureen (Vince) Marko of Great Falls, MT, and Corrine Nevala of Belt, MT; brother Jimmy (Betty Jean) Murnion of Canton, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews with whom she had very special relationships. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Mary Alice Currey; brother John D. Murnion; and her ex-husband Roger Habel. .
