Anthony Joseph Mosmiller III, 57, of Great Falls, Montana, passed away peacefully surrounded by God’s Grace and his family’s love on December 22, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1967, at Newport Naval Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island to Anthony (Jr) and Stephanie Ann (Lewis) Mosmiller. Anthony brought warmth, humor, and kindness into the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Anthony grew up with his beloved brother and best friend, Patrick, with whom he shared countless adventures. They spent time in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Montana, and the Philippines. Their childhood was filled with exploration, a bit of mischief, and a bond that remained strong throughout their lives. Together, they created a lifetime of memories that shaped Anthony’s love for laughter, being a protector, and a deep connection to family. It is what brought the boys to Montana in 1999 to be closer to family.
In 2004, Anthony married the love of his life, Sarah, and in 2012 they celebrated the birth of their only child, Stephanie. Family was at the heart of everything Anthony did, and he was determined to share his spirit of kindness and curiosity with his daughter. A true teddy bear at heart, he would cry at Hallmark commercials and was known to give everyone a giant hug.
A man of faith and a friend to all, Anthony was known for his friendly, down-to-earth nature, his hard work, and his natural leadership. He brightened every room with his quirky humor, clever puns, and witty one-liners. His non-judgmental spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Anthony had a passion for fishing, cooking, and spending time outdoors. He also loved to tinker with projects, turning old things into something new, and had a fantastic way of thinking outside of the box. Some would say that he had a hard time staying inside the box-yet he always had a plan and a backup plan to make it work.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; daughter, Stephanie; as well as his father, Anthony Jr and stepmom, Elena Mosmiller; son and granddaughters, Justen White of Virginia; Aunt and Uncle David and Margaret Mosmiller; and cousins, Christina (Jeremy) and Sophia Flores of Baltimore; sister-in-law, Desiree (Darrick) Dahl of Missoula; father-in-law, Charles Boothe of Great Falls; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie Ann in 1991; brother, Patrick, in 2004; grandparents, Mosmiller and Lewis; and mother-in-law, Vicki Boothe earlier in 2024. The impact of his life will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The best way to honor him is to live like him, in love, patience, and without malice to anyone.
The Mosmiller Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Parishioners and loved ones at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Parish. Their generosity and the grace of The Holy Spirit have carried us through this difficult time.
A Funeral Mass is to be held on March 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Great Falls. Following the service, a celebration of Anthony’s life will take place at The Do Bar Banquet Hall at 3:00 p.m.
In honor of Anthony’s life and legacy, his family invites those who knew him to gather, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable man he was. His kindness, humor, and love will live on in our hearts forever.
