Arlis LaVonne Reeverts, 84, of Owatonna MT, formerly of Great Falls, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Traditions of Owatonna. Arlis was born the daughter of Melvin and Vivian Stangeland on January 12, 1930 in Lismore, Minnesota at home, in the same bedroom that her father was born in. She graduated from Worthington High School with the class of 1948 and was united in marriage to Lloyd Reeverts in 1949. The majority of their married life was spent in Montana. She started working at Sears in 1965 and continued until her retirement. Lloyd died in August of 2000. Shortly after, she moved to Owatonna to be close to two of her daughters. Arlis was a very talented woman. She could do anything she put her mind to and often quoted to her children, “can’t, can’t do anything”. Some of her talents were baton twirling, singing, playing the piano and organ, various sports (when she was younger), sewing, painting, pool, woodworking, gardening, shooting and canning. She was always active in church. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior in 1958 and became passionate about sharing her faith. She was always involved in the music ministry of the church and was devoted to teaching Sunday school. She and Lloyd were knows for their hospitality. The coffee pot was always on and the door was always open for anyone needing lodging. She was hard working, loved playing games and loved a good joke. Her love for her family knew no bounds. She is survived by seven children, Jolean (and Larry) Gross of Waupaca, WI; Stephen (and Stephanie) Reeverts of Browning, MT; Stan (and Peggy) Reeverts of Vaughn, MT; Sue (and Mike) Endicott of Owatonna, MN; Carla (and Dan) Longely of Walla Walla, WA; Carrie (and Alan) Magnus of Missoula, MT; Sally (and Carl) Sanders of Waseca, MN; 24 grandchildren, their spouses and 40 plus great kids; one sister, Meredith (and Gary) Ferguson of South Hempstead, NY; one brother, Maynard (and Lucy) Stangeland of Thousand Oaks, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the O’Connor Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at the O’Connor Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM with the Pastor Larry Gross officiating. Interment will be in the Sun River Cemetery in Sun River, Montana.
