Audrey Darlene (Stach) Groth died peacefully on December 15, 2016. Before she entered heaven, Audrey again expressed love for her family. Not long before her final breath, she smiled when she mentioned her heavenly reunion with her loving husband Ralph (Tug), daughter Joan, and sister Virginia Weigel. She will be missed by son Richard (Darcy) Groth; daughters Pam (Dave) Todd, Peggy Swenson (Don) Schimmel, and Donna (Kyle) Rudolph. Grandma Audrey will be missed by grandchildren Tammy, Mark, Jennifer, Becky, Kimberli, Beth, Samuel, and Amy; and 11 great grandchildren. Audrey was born to Max and Anna Stach on April 4, 1932 near Wolverton, Minnesota. When Audrey was a young girl, her family moved to a farm near Callaway. She attended a one room school until boarding in Detroit Lakes to attend and graduate from high school. Audrey married Ralph Groth in September, 1950. She and Ralph, along with 5 children, moved to Montana in 1957. They lived in Sand Coulee, Fairfield, Cut Bank, and Choteau. Audrey had moved to Great Falls and most recently lived in the Golden Eagles Manor. There she was cared for by a dedicated, loving staff. At each new home, Audrey’s hands were busy. She was a very good cook and an excellent seamstress. Audrey made the BEST LEFSA!! She was very pleased to teach others how to mix, roll, and bake lefsa. One of her greatest joys was knowing some of her kids and grandkids were mastering the art of lefsa making. Audrey also enjoyed fishing for brook trout, camping, waltzing with Ralph, reading, and playing pinochle. In addition to Audrey’s immediate family, she will be missed by sisters Gloria Moore, Joyce Bush, Vivian (Jack) Ramsey, and Enid (Vernon) Monger; and brother Gordon Stach along with many nieces and nephews. To honor Audrey, please give of yourself by supporting and encouraging loved ones to stop smoking. Also, memorial gifts can be given to the Maclean Animal Adoption Shelter of Great Falls: P.O. Box 3426, Great Falls MT 59403. Audrey’s special cat, Tiger, is there awaiting adoption. A celebration of Audrey’s life will take place in the summer of 2017.
