Barbara Lamarr (Reigelman) Harrison passed away at Peace Hospice House on Dec 8th 2016 at the age of 88. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Harrison, Sister Adele Reigelman Kelly, Nephew Homer ‘Squeak’ Kelly and niece Collen ‘Tootsie’ Kelly Geiger. Barbara is lovingly remembered by her daughter Patricia Harrison (Carla Lux) of Great Falls, MT, son Gerald Harrison of Great Falls, MT, step son David Harrison (Elaine Harrison) of Conneaut Lake, Pa. her younger brother David Reigelman, her special like a daughter Nancy Young of Tampa FL., and her special like a son Gary Lux of Great Falls, MT. her lifelong best friend Linda Gray of Bedford, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Sneeze. Barbara was born in Greenville, PA. On March 26,1928. She was raised by her father’s parents Amanda Belle Reigelman and James Monroe Reigelman. She left home when she was 15 years old and moved to Baltimore, MD. She found work in a small Deli and managed to continue her schooling. She graduated from high school in 1946 and went to work with the Department of the Navy during WWII. Her Grandmother needed her at home to help take care of her ailing Grandfather which ended her career with the Navy. She always put her family ahead of her own needs and it carried on through her whole life. After moving back to Pennsylvania she met her future husband Benjamin Harrison and they married in April of 1954. Always wanting children but being told she’d never have any, God blessed her with a daughter and a son. Never a day went by that we weren’t told how much we were wanted and loved. She always said God answered her prayers. She worked many jobs to make sure we had everything we needed; but her proudest moment was going to work for the Bedford Police Department in 1970. She retired in 1994 as the secretary to the Bedford Police Department. Mom enjoyed Reading murder mysteries, watching her Tom Selleck on Blue Bloods, and loving her cat. After being diagnosed with breast cancer she moved to Great Falls to be near her daughter Patty. A special thank you to my wife Carla or ‘Peaches’ as my loving mom referred to her as, for always being there to take care of her. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Peace Hospice House located at 1101 26th Street South, Great Falls, MT. 59405 or any animal shelter of your choice.
