Bertha Dalke Jeffries, 91, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, following a lengthy stay in a nursing home in Helena, Montana. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, followed by interment at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Bertha was born April 24, 1926 in Terry, Montana to John and Anna Dalke. She was the first of eight children. Bertha married Milo “Sonny” Jeffries on November 4, 1945 and they had four children together. One of the many defining qualities of Bertha was her devotion to education and home economics. She taught at the University in Bozeman and provided guidance to other local organizations. In addition to her many talents, she was a self-taught artist, ceramic buff, and could sew, knit and darn anything. Bertha is survived by her children Gordon, Merle Ann, Denise, and Jerry; siblings Ray, Lorraine, Dolores, Shirley, and Alice; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Milo “Sonny” Jeffries; brother Ruben; and sister Mary Ann. As a Christian woman and a member of First Church of the Nazarene, we wish her the peace she prayed for and the comfort in the arms of Christ.
