Betty Lou Pawlowski, 82, of Great Falls passed away on Thursday July, 7, 2016 at Peace Hospice of natural causes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Lutheran Church, 800 Sacajawea Drive. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Betty was born May 29, 1934 on the family farm in Wessington Springs, South Dakota to Arne and Mary (Tapken) Houwman. Betty was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Lane, SD. On September 18, 1955 she was married to Ken Pawlowski at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs. They farmed in that area for three years and moved to Woonsocket in 1958 where she worked at the local newspaper office. In1972 they moved to the Aberdeen area and in 1978 to Lewistown, MT where she worked for the school system in food services at both locations. Throughout those years she was an active member of the LWML, served as church secretary, taught Sunday school, mid-week school, and Vacation Bible School. Betty was a member of the Mountain View Lutheran Church. Betty is survived by her husband, Ken of Great Falls; daughter, Charlotte (Lonnie) Jackson of Summer, WA; grandson Austin; step-grandson Brad; and one brother and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son Gary.
