Calvin D Hering

Cal Hering, 90, of Great Falls passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Peace Hospice. At Cal’s request cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Cal had served in the military for almost 40 years, for 38 of those years with the Montana Air National Guard. Cal married Lois Mogstad in 1971 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho celebrating forty-four years of marriage. He enjoyed being active and was a member of the Eagle’s Lodge, and a life member of the VFW, Elk’s Lodge, and the Moose Lodge. During his career he enjoyed various sports, stock car racing, water skiing and keeping track of all the latest boats just to name a few. Up until four years ago Cal was a very good golfer and bowler. He leaves behind his wife Lois of Great Falls, a son Jerry (Bonni) Mogstad of Cabot, Arkansas, four grandchildren Becky Harrell, Brandi (Paul) Wilkerson, Jill (Jeremy) Jones and Rudy Mogstad, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Smith, and a brother Alden Hering.
