Carol Christine Kind was born in Rutland, VT on Christmas Day 1949 and graduated into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 21, 2022. She has joined several family members in heaven to include her parents, Theodore E. McKeighan and Florence E. Hanehan; as well as her sisters, Theresa Herron and Diana Garcia; along with her baby brother, Theodore (Mickey) McKeighan, Jr. Carol leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend of almost 44 years, Charles A. Kind; her children, Daniel (Kristen) Kind of Billings, Jennifer (Jeff) Schneider of Tri Cities, WA, and Kelly Kind of Florida; sisters, Marilyn Peters and Teddy Woodard both of New York; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Carol grew up in Vermont and upstate New York with her four sisters and one brother. She graduated high school from Greenwich High School.
Family was very important to her, and she longed to spend time with everyone as equally as she possibly could. Like visiting her children and grandchildren who lived in several different states throughout her life or her siblings who also lived in various places. Most of Carols siblings live on the East Coast as well as her extended family, which includes aunts, uncles, cousins, and close family friends. While her children were growing Carol was present at all the various sporting events and was active in their lives as well as in her grandchildren's lives. She was one of their biggest cheerleaders and encouragers.
Carol was also blessed to be able to go abroad with a close family friend. Carol had a love for traveling and spending time with her husband. Together they traveled around the United States to include Alaska and Hawaii. They spent several winters in Lake Havasu, AZ where she learned how to play bocce ball. While traveling together they were able to take in the sights and attend some professional baseball and football games. Carol didn’t care whether they were golfing, camping or even fishing if she was beside her husband. She wasn’t a big fan of fishing, but she did enjoy being on the boat with her husband.
Their last trip to Kauai, HI was to witness their granddaughter, Olivia getting married. She also traveled to Champagne, IL to celebrate her oldest grandson, Dylan as he received his master’s degree from University of Illinois. She attended all her grandchildren's high school graduations and weddings that were held prior to her departure from this earth and the opportunity to travel to Germany, Paris, and Amsterdam. She had the time of her life and so many great memories were made on that trip. Many stories were shared and will be remembered for years to come. Her last trip across the ocean was to Greece on a mission trip with her church, Central Assembly of God Church. She absolutely loved serving others whether it was in the church setting, in her home or out in the world. Carol volunteered to bring meals for different events or to friends in need. She sat with several friends as they battled cancer or other serious illnesses bringing comfort and light wherever she went. She was a great example of being the hands and feet of Jesus. She did these things out of love for people and not for the recognition.
As much as she loved traveling, she loved learning about Jesus through His Word and through being an active member of her church. She was involved in women's ministry, benevolence committee and missions. She attended several Women of Faith conferences with her daughter, Jennifer. She was a member of the Board for Inheritance Ministries located in Helena, MT.
She served on the Great Falls Community Concert Association as an active board member. She helped determine what type of theater events and concerts came to the Civic Center. She enjoyed the people whom she served with.
