Charles “Chuck” Stephens, 78, of Great Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Chuck was born on July 26, 1943, in Pensacola, FL to Charles and Vonda (Perkins) Stephens. After graduation, he joined the US Navy Seabees and served in Vietnam. He became a border patrol agent in Brownsville, TX before moving to Montana. He was a surveyor for the Department of Highways, as well as for the Lewis and Clark National Forest before he retired. He was an avid fly fisherman, fishing the Smith and Missouri River and the various lakes throughout Montana. On a fishing trip to British Columbia, Canada he caught a 28-pound Rainbow which still holds the world record. Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy; brother, Mark; furry companions, Ben and Bella; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Vonda and aunts and uncles. A celebration of life will be held later this year. Memorials in Chuck’s name may be made to Peace Hospice or any animal rescues/shelters of the donor’s choice.
