Charles “Eddy” McCrea, 60 of Great Falls passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at a local hospice facility. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 2 pm at Temple Baptist Church. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Eddy was born October 13, 1953 to Charles and Grace McCrea in Havre. For a time he worked in Alaska as a commercial fisherman. Eddy then went on to attend the University of Montana and receive his degree in environmental science. He worked in quality control for the Cascade County Health Department and most recently worked as the head of sanitation for Pasta Montana. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his daughter on Holter Lake, and golfing but his passion was Grizzly football. He had season tickets for Griz football and was lucky enough to fly on a plane with the entire Grizzly football team back to Montana. Eddy is survived by his daughters Kelsey (Kevin) Kyle of Helena and Molly McCrea of Great Falls; brothers Patrick McCrea and Kerry (Kate) McCrea both of Great Falls; sister-in-law Mary (Steve) McCrea of Steel AL; and grandchildren Carson Kyle and Ivy Kyle. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Patrick McCrea; mother Grace McCrea; and siblings Michael McCrea, Steve McCrea, Cathy McCrea, and Molly McCrea.
