Charlotte Alexander Gabel

Charlotte A. Gabel, age 76, passed away at Benefis Hospital from heart failure. At her request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Charlotte was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1942. She spent her childhood in Scotland and joined the British Navy.She was stationed in England as a tailoress where she met Fred. She came to the USA as a 19 year old military bride with her husband Fred. She spent the next 26 years as an Air Force spouse at various U.S., European and Canadian duty stations. During this time, she bore two sons, Danny and Scott, and helped support the family at various jobs. After retiring (with Fred) from military life, she and Fred settled at Hardy Creek near Cascade, where they resided for the next 30 years. Charlotte enjoyed sewing, crafts, and community service such as American Legion Auxiliary and Dearborn Garden Club. She moved to Great Falls with Fred in October 2013. Here she got busy with volunteer work with hospice and Garden Club and participated in senior center. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 58 years; son Danny; and two granddaughters, Erin and Megan. Charlotte was preceded in death by son Scott. Donations in her name should go to Benefis Peace Hospice or Great Falls Senior Center.
