Cindy A Smithson

Cindy Ann (Doan) Smithson, 47, of Great Falls, MT passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 of natural causes. No services are planned at this time. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Cindy was born November 13, 1965 in Marietta, OH to Harold and Beatrice Doan. She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1984 and went on to attend Washington State Community College of Practical Nursing. She graduated from there in 1985 with her LPN degree and continued classes for her Associate Degree in nursing later obtaining her RN degree. Most recently she was working on her Nurse Practitioner Certification. Cindy joined the Army in 2000 and was stationed at Fort Hood Army Base in Fort Hood, TX. While there she worked for the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center until 2004 when she was honorably discharged. After returning to Great Falls she worked for Missouri River CareRehab until 2012. She had worked her entire life as a nurse. She assisted several years with 4-H and enjoyed bike riding, cross-stitching, reading, line dancing, and gambling. Cindy is survived by her husband, Brent Smithson, Great Falls, MT; daughter Calley Smithson of Great Falls, MT; sons Zachary Smithson, Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, VA and Mitchell Smithson, Great Falls, MT; sisters Patty Jo Riehl of Morehead City, NC, Pamela June Handschumacher of Whipple, OH, Peggy Jean Mumaugh of Williamstown, WV., and Penny Jayne Anderson of Marietta, OH; and brother Jerry Wayne Doan, Lower Salem, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Beatrice Doan.
