Clyde “Chick” Nebel, age 93, formerly of Monarch, passed away at Peace Hospice. Cremation has taken place.
Chick was born June 27, 1929, in Hughesville to Curt Nebel and Clara James. He would later graduate from Neihart before joining the Navy in January 1951 and would be honorably discharged from the Navy and go to work for the US Postal Service until his retirement. To keep himself busy after retirement, he would take care of his yard and help caretake for other people in the Monarch area.
He met and married his wife Joan Schermele October 1, 1960, and they would have three children, Richard, William, and Julie. They loved skiing and were part of the Ski Patrol at Showdown Ski Area and would later join the Great Falls Ski Club, where he would get to travel the world doing what he loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan and son, Richard. He is survived by his brothers, Bob Nebel and Gordon “Pint” McMillan; son, William (Faye) Nebel; daughter, Julie (Ron) Zarr; four grandchildren, Kelsi (Rory Permann), Corbyn, Alyssa, and Jeremy; and three great-grandchildren, Ryker, Brody, and Remi.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, December 10 th at 1 pm at the Harvest Moon Saloon in Belt.
