Crescentia “Sis” Olson, 94, of Great Falls passed away Monday, March 3 2014 at Renaissance Assisted Living. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 10 am to 7 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Vigil service will also be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 2 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with rite of committal to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Sis was born on April 24, 1919 to William and Elizabeth Casper in Osakis, MN. Sis was number ten of fifteen children. She met and married Willie K. “Bill” Olson on July 29, 1938 in Benson, MN. She was a great cook and worked at a steakhouse as well as the local drive-in. Sis was a whiz with a sewing machine, making quilts and clothes for her young children. She and Bill worked on poultry farms and in sugar cane fields. In Bill’s retirement years, she helped clean a professional building and several churches including Our Lady of Lourdes. Sis was very active in her church. She hosted bible study classes, circle meeting, and she would cook for the fall bazaar dinners. After they moved to Florida, she became an electronics tester for a government company. They returned to Great Falls in 1996. Sis is survived by her daughters, Marlys Mustad of Glasgow, Janice (Delbert) Taylor of Houston, TX, and LuAnn (Larry) Hilton of Great Falls; sons Lowell Olson of Great Falls and Lyell (Naomi) Olson of Portland, OR; sisters Mary Olson of Monroe, WI and Betty (Curt) Halverson of Rapid City, SD; brother Joe Casper of Cuba City, WI; grandchildren Bill Winn, Angela (Mark) Proveaux, Brian (Casey) Taylor, Robin (Brian) DeVito, Jason Taylor, Russell Hilton, and Kimberly Hilton; great-grandchildren Sarah Jean DeVito, Tristen Taylor, Adrian Proveaux, and Teagan Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter Jeannie Gage; and grandson Mark Taylor.
