Darrel Duane Delanoy, 63, of Great Falls passed away at his home on Monday, April 21, 2014. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Darrel was born May 28, 1949 in Conrad to Jack and Ruth (Bronken) Delanoy. He was raised and educated in Great Falls and graduated from CMR High School in 1968. At the age of 20, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam. On February 2, 1971 he was wounded in action. After recovering from injuries he sustained he served in Texas and was honorably discharged. Darrel then became a Journey Commercial Painter. During his 25 year career, he enjoyed traveling the entire state of Montana. He enjoyed classic cars, NASCAR, sprint car racing, drag racing, and helping drivers at the local tracks around the state. He had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Darrel is survived by his mother, Ruth Delanoy of Great Falls; former wife Helen Fabian Delanoy; son Seth Delanoy; daughter Amber Delanoy; brothers Mike (Linda) Delanoy and Pat Delanoy; niece Deanne; nephew Jack “J.J” ; grandchildren Dana, Ayana, Tatyana, and K’Lana; and numerous Cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack.
