David Edward Butler, 46, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. David was born Feb. 8, 1969 in Great Falls and attended Great Falls Schools until a move to East Glacier where he graduated from Browning High School with honors. After High School he joined the Marines and was stationed in California and also attended the University of Montana. David was an avid reader and liked to write short stories which won him awards in high School for his skill in writing fiction. He also loved animals and always had a pet of some kind. For several years he had a pet rabbit and of course a kitten or two. He had a kind heart, was a loving soul, a good man, and wonderful son. He would do anything for you in spite of the terrible disease that gripped him his whole adult life. The struggles he endured just to maintain a normal lifestyle were more than a person can imagine but David did it the best that he could and he always loved another first. You won’t see a list of honors and awards he received here, but if you had the privilege of knowing David Butler you already know the caliber of man he was. David is survived by his mother, Karen Bullard; uncles William Bruce Knoepke and Jim Knoepke, aunts Linda Holland and Nancy Burian; and several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Butler, his father William Butler and his stepfather Larry Bullard.
