David “Dave” Kuglin passed away to cancer at the age of 67 on July 14, 2021, in Great Falls, Montana, with his wife, Anne Kuglin, by his side. Dave’s vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. His funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. David “Dave” William Kuglin was born in Great Falls, Montana on October 28, 1953. He was born to James Sr. and Charlene Kuglin, and has five siblings, Michael (Kathy), Barb, Jamie (Vicki), Polly (Joe), and Dana (Kelle). He was a self-identified “dirt head” and a fighter, and boy, did he fight until the end. Growing up he could be found playing in the dirt, which he later made into a career by owning his own construction company. Dave graduated from Central Catholic High School, and he carried his faith with him all throughout his life. He has lived many places throughout his life, including Hawaii, where he and Anne started their life together. He married Anne on November 30, 1991, and had three children with her, having seven children total, Jason, Amelie, Rosalie, Jeremy (Melissa), Cody (Krista), Christalie, and Amberlie. Dave is survived by his wife, children, siblings, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. He played many sports, including basketball, national racquetball, skiing with his family, and was quite the runner. He enjoyed watching hockey, with the Colorado Avalanche being his team to cheer on. Racing was his passion, and he shared that with his son, Cody. He loved his sweets and loved buying sweets for everyone. More than anything, his family was the love of his life. Dave’s children thought of him as being “indestructible,” going through many physical hardships in his life. He was a living example that miracles happen and was a very strong-willed fighter. He fought hard for his life, being diagnosed with stage four cancer in August of 2017. Although his life was cut short, his many stories were telling that he had lived a full life. Those who know him have described him as being quite an unbelievable man, no man being like him, being so smart, hard-working, and being able to do anything he put his mind to and succeed. There is no measuring the size of his heart, and the love he had for those he encountered. We know he had a special place in Heaven reserved for him, and he’s there now. What a legend.
