David Lynn Marquart

May 17, 1954 — November 19, 2023

David Lynn Marquart, a beloved figure in Great Falls, Montana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Peace Hospice, succumbing to vascular issues. He was born to Valentine Marquart and Vida Leona Marquart on May 17, 1954, in Great Falls, Montana.

Dave's roots ran deep in Great Falls, and his sportsmanship in Fast Pitch Softball made him a local legend. In his earlier years, he proudly served in the Air Force and on June 5, 1973, he married Pamela Sue Canoy. Dave and Pamela had two children, Stephanie Galicia and Terry Marquart. Dave and Pamela divorced in March 1981 in Washington, and he returned to Great Falls, where he remained until his death. In later years, Dave found love and companionship again with his long-time significant other, Debbie Harvie-Norris.

He was cherished by his friends and family alike. Whether he was throwing darts, strumming his guitar, or taking the mound in a softball game, he created countless cherished memories with his loved ones. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his two children, Stephanie Galicia and Terry Marquart; brothers, Don (Suzanne) Marquart and Bob Marquart; sister, Carol Marquart-Justice; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Vida Leona and Valentine Marquart; brothers, Michael Marquart and Leon Featherstone; and his long-time significant other, Debbie Harvey-Norris.

The family will be planning a celebration of life at a later date to honor Dave's memory and the impact he had on all of our lives.
