DeLores June “Dee” Perry, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 2, 2023, in Great Falls, MT. A memorial service will be held at the O’Connor Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 am with a graveside service to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton, MT.
DeLores was born June 4, 1930, in Wolf Point, MT to Christian and Mary Hanson. She grew up on a farm near Sand Creek, MT attending grade school and middle school in Circle, MT. Dee moved to Great Falls while she was still in high school and graduated from Great Falls High in 1948. While attending Great Falls High, she met the love of her life, Loran Perry. Loran and DeLores were married on August 5, 1948, and began a life filled with love, farming, travel, craft shows, children, and grandchildren!
She was a dedicated homemaker, cooking some of the most beautiful and delicious “farm” meals for her friends and family. Loran and Dee traveled the United States with their business Perry Points where they attended farm shows and tradeshows working with farmers and ranchers providing implement reinforcement points. During their travels and tradeshows, she snuck in a few of her jewelry items for sale, and thus began her love for making and selling her beautiful, handcrafted jewelry. Her final craft show was in May 2023.
Dee’s grandchildren were very special to her and through all the travel with their business, Loran and Dee never missed a school event or sporting event of theirs, attending everything they could. She lived on the Perry family farm until Loran’s passing in March 2006, when she bought a condo and moved to Great Falls. During her time in Great Falls, Dee met many people who became dear friends. She loved playing cards and started a fun and competitive card night and found great joy in meeting with her friends to play. She loved you all dearly and you were all very special to her!
Dee is survived by her only daughter, Susan Johnston and her son-in-law, Greg; son, Doug Perry; grandchildren, BranDee, Angie, Perry, Justin, Andrea, Afton, Tommy, Steven, and Alana; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loran; sons, Scott and Mark; and her great-granddaughter, Shelby.
