Known as Dee Forrest most of her life, she was born January 21, 1933 near Bemidji, MN to Clarence and Harriet Paulson. She was raised on the family farm along with her brother, Harold. She also received her education in Bemidji. Dee moved to Omaha, NE in the early 1950’s where she was employed. She met and married John “Jack” Forrest in 1956. They had one son, Mark. Jack was a career U.S. Air Force man whose assignments took them several places before coming to Malmstrom AFB where they retired and became active in their chosen home town. Dee was a long-time employee at MAFB before her retirement. She attended Faith Lutheran Church and was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as worthy matron of Evergreen Chapter; Daughters of the Nile; Past Matron’s Club; and Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed ceramics and going out to eat with the “Lunch Bunch.” Her favorite pastime was baking Norwegian pastries. It gave her great pleasure to share them with friends and relatives. Dee is survived by her son, Mark Forrest of Hillsboro, OR; nieces Dianne Allen of Fayette, TX and Melissa Vanderzanden of Ajo, AZ; nephews Michael Forrest of Houston, TX and Steve Forrest of Bozman; brother-in-law Donald Forrest of Bozeman; and a small group of wonderfully supportive friends in her Great Falls neighborhood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.
