Dolores Barnes

Dolores Ann Sunny Barnes 77, of Big Sandy, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 after a long battle with cancer at Benefis Extended Care Center in Great Falls. A Celebration of Life for Dolores will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Big Sandy United Methodist Church. Dolores was born January 4, 1937 in Oakland, CA. She was a resident of Oakland, CA before moving to Montana to be with family. Dolores was an avid musician who loved bringing joy to others through her music. She worked numerous jobs throughout her life, including volunteer work. Dolores enjoyed music, spending time with friends and family, fishing, and working with minerals and gems. Dolores is survived by her son Thomas K. Barnes of Big Sandy; daughter-in-law Lorna; granddaughters Amber, Patience, and Layla; grandson Zachariah; great-grandson Colby; brother John Groff of Elko, NV; sister-in-law Marian; niece Meleigh; and nephew Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Laura Groff; and husband Thomas W. Barnes.
