Donald “Don” Figarelle, 83, of Great Falls, a retired sanitation worker for the City of Great Falls and United States Army and Korean War veteran, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from complications of influenza at a local hospital. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm at O’Connor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:00 am at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Don was born June 19, 1929 to Augusto and Inez (Peressini) Figarelle in Black Eagle. He worked for the Great Northern Railway from 1949 to 1951 as a machinist helper before enlisting in the United States Army. He served in the Korean War from March 1951 to February of 1953. Don then worked for the City of Great Falls Water and Sanitation Department for over 35 years. Don is survived by his sisters, Clara Williams of Great Falls and Cathy Peska of Chicago, IL; brothers John Figarelle, Ed Figarelle, Mike Figarelle, and August Figarelle all of Great Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Tony Figarelle and Richard Figarelle; and sisters Ann Keel and Theresa Figarelle. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Great Falls Senior Citizen’s Center or Shodair Children’s Hospital.
