Dorothy “Dot” Hamman, 77 of Great Falls and formerly of Belt, went to heaven on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Dorothy was born on February 4, 1938 to Leo and Annastia Rumpza in Webster, South Dakota; and was raised on the farm, graduating from Roslyn High School in 1956. She moved to Montana in September of 1957 and was employed by the Belt Valley Bank for over 33 years. On August 2, 1958 Dorothy was united in marriage to Gene R. Hamman at St. Ann’s Cathedral in Great Falls. They were divorced later in life. Dorothy was known for her many talents which included making wedding cakes, arts and crafts, oil paintings, her special talent of growing flowers, as well as her love of puppy dogs. She was a loving mother who knew the love of Christ and gave us kids life’s greatest gifts. Dorothy is survived by her three children, Dianne (Steve) Nash of Great Falls, Mike Hamman of Belt, and Dale (Becky) Hamman of Stamford, CT. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Bennett. The family would like to thank Dr. Onstad, Dr. Walker, Dr. Mazur, Dr. Prambi, and all their staff.
