Duane J. Cossette. 73, of Great Falls, a retired boiler maker, passed away peaceful with his wife by his side at Peace Hospice on Friday, April 25, 2014. Exactly 9 years after his step son Michael. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 3 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Duane was born June 1, 1940, in North Dakota. He met Jan in St Cloud, MN and she soon became the love of his life. They were united in marriage on December 20, 1990. Duane worked for the smelter in Great Falls. He served in the Navy and was a member of the Great Falls Big Sky Parachute Club. His step-son Michael was very special to him. He also enjoyed any time he got with his grandsons Nate and William. Duane is survived by his wife, Jeannette “Jan” Schwegel; daughter Teri Lynn (Bob) Hansberry; step-daughters Judy Klein, Julie (Bill) Hartman, and Loura (Mark) Corless; step-sons James (Sharon) Klein, Marvin Klein, Joseph Klein, and Bill Day; brothers Ron and Jim Cossette; brother-in-law Ronny Brown; sister-in-law Sandy Cossette; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Aldea Cossette; brother Terrence Cossette; sister Angel Brown; niece Amber Cossette; and step-son Michael Klein.
