Edwin "Eddie" Eckart

Edwin “Eddie” Eckart, 85, passed away at his home in Great Falls on Thursday, February 13, 2014. Inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Dad was born in Froid, MT on April 17, 1928, the son of Herbert and Amelia (Wessner) Eckart. He had 9 brothers and sisters. He married Eleanor Katherine Herman in 1949 and three children were born to this union¬¬¬¬–Dennis, Linda Jean (Jeannie), and Ronnie Wayne (Ron). They divorced and later he married Faye (Rens) Hubbard. Dad was a long-haul trucker for over forty years and drove over four million miles. He loved fishing, enjoyed hunting, and he could fix anything. He was a hard worker, and he had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include son, Dennis (Toni) Eckart of Great Falls; daughter Jeannie Gines of San Antonio, TX; abrother Jim Eckart of Billings; and sisters, Marian Kemp of Collinston, LA, Betty (Pete) Kringen of Sidney, and Barb (Ron) Schlosser of Butte; five grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Faye; son, Ron Eckart; brothers, Ivan Eckart and Oliver Eckart; sisters, Alfield Herman, Irene Reidle, and Marlene George; and his parents.
