Elinor was born in Conrad, MT, in 1941 to Albert and Mary (Raty) Thorman as the oldest of five children. Being raised on a farm near Pendroy, MT, she learned the value of hard work and life in rural Montana. In 1959, Elinor graduated from Choteau High School where she met Thomas Snyder and later married in 1961. She enjoyed many years raising her four children while working part time cleaning houses and styling hair until she became a full-time waitress in 1975. She was a waitress for the remainder of her working years beginning at the Log Cabin in Choteau and then at Nevada Sams and the RR in Great Falls. She was devoted to her customers and served them with a kind heart and big smile. Elinor loved music and especially dancing. She rarely missed a town hall dance with Tom by her side. Gathering to share life with her family was important to her. At one time or another, many have received one of her famous decorated cards where she would share her heartfelt comments. She was a member of the Great Falls Church of Christ finding peace and reassurance in her faith. Elinor is survived by her partner and friend, Tom; sons Neil (Cindy) Snyder of Dillon; Clayton (Brenda Johnson) Snyder of Choteau, Darwin (Bobbie) Snyder of Great Falls; daughter Shelly (Bob) Sien of Great Falls; sisters Phyllis Bender, Joyce Arthur, and Louise (Michael) Shoffner all of Coeur d’Alene, ID; brother Digger Thorman of Arizona; grandchildren Aaron, Nolan, Raelene, Darwin Jr., Dareik, Brandon, Jacob, and Kassidy; and two great granddaughters.
