Elizabeth Moran Hogan loved the Lord and her family. Our “Betty” was a true Irish Girl born in Butte, America to Francis and Marguerite Moran in 1932. She was one of 9 children; 8 girls and 1 boy. She often shared stories of playing with neighborhood friends and climbing the hills of Butte. At a young age she began babysitting for numerous neighborhood families and making Butte pasties. Betty attended Butte High School and working as a nursing assistant led to her education and career as a Registered Nurse after graduating Carroll College. She treasured her time working in hospitals in Deer Lodge, Butte, Billings and Missoula with the life-long friends she made. Betty met Donald Hogan from Gold Creek, Montana in September 1957 and soon married in Butte. Together they raised 5 children: Lori (John) Sadzewicz, Mount Vernon, Washington; David Hogan, Great Falls; Beth (Chris) Munsterteiger, Great Falls; Tina Hogan (Tom Barger), Mukilteo, Washington; and Danny (Wanda) Hogan, Spokane, Washington. Betty was grandmother to Emma and Gabriel Sadzewicz, Sydni and Abby Hogan, Michaela and Ryan Munsterteiger, T. Colin and Rory Barger, and Ashley (Ryan) Higgins. She was great-grandmother to 4 and “Aunt Betty” to numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish for many years with her devout spirituality ever-present throughout her entire life. She enjoyed baking (especially pies), shopping, prayer, puzzles, traveling and caring for others. She worked alongside Sister Cecila Schmitt for many years and comforted many at Park Place Nursing Home and Missouri River Care and Rehabilitation Center. Betty planned numerous family vacations reaching from the Grand Canyon to Disneyland to Canada. In her retirement, Betty was able to travel to the east coast and achieved her dream of visiting Boston. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Moran and sisters Peggy (Bill) Stordahl, Helen Hancock, Patty Capp; as well as in-laws Emmett and Dorothy Hogan, Gene Hogan, David Hogan, Jerry Hogan, Pat Hogan, Mary Ann and Russell Burt and Roland Hasner. She is survived by her sisters; Mary Burns, Dorothy (Steve) Mandic, Sharon Heinen, Lynn Moran and in-laws Ray Capp, Larry Hancock, Myrna Hogan, Alan (Eileen) Hogan, Thomas (Judy) Hogan and Sam (Linda) Hogan. Betty loved everyone she met and along with Don, enjoyed the stories and company of friends, relatives, neighbors and new acquaintances. They opened their home to numerous family members whenever called upon. She toasted and celebrated often the many accomplishments and adventures of her children, grandchildren, extended family and the happy and precious life she shared with Don and all of us. She was always ready to light a candle and added many to the prayer chain. She always remembered to thank the Lord for all prayers answered.
