Emil "Gene" E Menghini, Jr.

Emil Eugene Menghini Jr, 81, of Great Falls passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday, June 21, 2014 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 9:00 am. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Emil “Gene” Menghini was born in Great Falls to Emil and Mary Menghini. He was raised in Stockett and was a graduate of Centerville High School. He joined the Navy in 1951 and was a Korean War veteran. Gene married Vina McKinnis in May of 1955 in Las Vegas, NV. Gene loved fishing, hunting and camping. Gene is survived by his four children, Kathleen Dixon of Deer Lodge, Francine Marsh and Colleen Abresch both of Great Falls, and Perry Menghini of Spokane, WA; sisters Shirley Renz, Donna Drake, Marjorie Spesock, and Vicki Luoma; close friend John Pejko; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Vina; daughter Jeanette Menghini; parents Emil and Mary Menghini; and grandchildren Douglas Meade, Destiney Moore, and Tyler Menghini.
