He attended school in Great Falls and graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 1981. While he was in high school, he began working at Ernst Home Center where he soon became the “go to man” when customers and employees had questions that no one else could answer. After the Ernst store closed, he held a number of jobs during his career, including driving for North American Van Lines, working at First National Pawn, Opportunities Inc., Hall Transit, Stageline Pizza, and, prior to his illness, at Platt Electric. Emmanuel really loved to fix things and repair computers. He enjoyed working with his hands and he loved to drive. He would go behind the wheel of anything including semi-trucks and school buses. He even enjoyed delivering pizza. He was a very giving and generous person, who helped many people throughout his life. He married his wife, Pam, in Las Vegas, Nevada,in 2012. He was blessed to have her by his side during his battle with cancer. Their Christian faith carried them through a very difficult journey. Emmanuel was a member of Faith Center, whose members were of great support during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John and Rosemary. He is survived by his wife Pam; son Darin (Jamie) Overturf; brothers Dr. Mel (Barb) Margaris, Mark Margaris, and Chris (Kelsi) Margaris; father-in-law James Pickering; nieces Helen, Christine, Londyn, and Camryn; nephews Adam and Zach; and one grandchild, Elizabeth Overturf. The family wishes to thank Dr. Baldridge, Dr. Baker, Dr. Santin, Dr. Tang, Dr. Malloy, Dr. Dover, Dr. Pfeffer, the many nurses and the hospital physicians who cared for Emmanuel at Benefis. Special thanks to Dr. Marler and Dr. Galvas, along with the staff at The Grandview; as well as Dr. Gordon and the staff at Peace Hospice House who lovingly cared for Emmanuel during the last months of his life.
