Erin Leigh Mccormick

February 5, 1977 — November 12, 2022

There are certain people that will inhabit a small quiet space inside your heart despite any circumstance, happening, or situation. They leave a piece of themselves when your souls collided upon impact, and there they will always subtly remain. -Victoria Erickson.

Beloved daughter, mother, and friend to all, Erin Leigh McCormick, aged 45, passed into spirit on November 15, 2022.  Erin was born February 5, 1977, to Danny and Pat. Being a child of an active-duty Navy family, Erin spent her early years traveling and living in various locations including the Michigan UP and Virginia before settling in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. There she fell in love with the white sandy beaches of the Emerald Coast.

Erin loved to roller skate and could be found most weekends showing off all her skating moves. She had a huge passion for football and was an avid Pittsburgh fan. “Go Steelers!”  She also loved her Grandpa’s LSU Tigers.

Erin had an excellent work ethic which she displayed at Wendy’s at fifteen years old, while working in retail, childcare, real estate, car insurance, and most recently since her move to Montana, with her loving Benefis Hospital family.

Erin’s proudest accomplishment by far was the honor of being the mother of her precious son, Blaine-the love of her life and her greatest joy. She is not gone, she is just running ahead, but oh, how our beautiful ray of sunshine will be missed.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Erin, please pick an Angel from a giving tree to help spread joy and fulfill a Christmas wish. Erin is survived by her son, Blaine Schwartz; mother, Pat McGrath; stepfather, Richard McGrath; stepsister, Cassandra McGrath; nephew, Christopher McCormick; ex-husband and dear friend, Utah Schwartz; as well as loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Erin was preceded in death by her father, Danny McCormick; brother, Sean McCormick; maternal grandparents, Harold “Bub” and Nellie Madere; and paternal grandparents, Grant and Marion McCormick.

There will be a celebration of Erin’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Richard Brennan presiding.
