Ferdinand "Fred" Rubino

Ferdinand "Fred" Antonio Rubino,78, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 of natural causes at Benefis East. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Avenue North. Arrangements are in the care of O'Connor Funeral Home. Fred was born June 9, 1938 in Great Falls to Emilie and Joseph Rubino. He grew up in Belt, spending his summers in Highwood, and graduated from Belt Valley High in 1956. He served 2 years in the Navy on a mine sweep – USS Embattle. On July 18, 1959 he married Marilyn King at First Methodist Church in Great Falls. Together they had two children, Paula and Neal. Fred went to work for the Caterpillar Dealership in Great Falls, in 1959. Upon retiring he was so proud of his 45 years and 45 days with Caterpillar. The family did a lot of camping and Fred enjoyed fishing, and spending time every summer at Camp Tuffit at Lake Mary Ronan. The past 10 years he and Marilyn have enjoyed their winters in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Fred is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter Paula (Jim) Delaney; son Neal (Kelly Olson) Rubino; four grandchildren; brother Paul (Janet) Rubino; sister-in-law Sharon Rubino; a niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Phillip Rubino. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Faith Lutheran Church, the American Lung Association, or a charity of your choice.
