Francis J Murphy

Francis J. Murphy, 90, passed away on June 9, 2018. Francis was born on September 3, 1927 in Box Elder, Montana to John Francis Murphy and Mary (Markowick) Murphy. Francis joined the Army Air Corps on January 18, 1946 in Fort Douglas Utah and received the World War II Victory Medal. After his service, Francis worked for various trucking lines including Rice, Garrett and Consolidated Freight Bulk Commodities. Francis purchased his own truck in 1968 and handed the business over to his son, Mike, in 2003. Francis enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and trap shooting in his younger days. He was known to be a “Ford Guy.” Francis is survived by daughter Barbara K. Walters of Great Falls; sons Michael Francis (Dana Jo) Murphy of Tacoma, WA and Robert Joseph Murphy of Sidney, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers William Glenn and John Murphy. Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
