Fred Douglas Nester

Fred Douglas Nester, 91, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery. Fred was born on June 28, 1929, in Coaldale, WV to Harry and Hattie (Mahaffey) Nester. He married Josephine and she passed away in 2005. He joined the US Navy in 1951. He went on to join the US Air Force. He retired from the US Air Force at Malmstrom AFB after 20 years working as a cryptographer. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Fred is survived by his son, Tommy Gregory; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josephine; daughter, Sharon Baughman; and son, Billy Gregory.
