Gerald “Jerry” Vosberg, 82, of Great Falls, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. A memorial service will be Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Jerry was born October 18, 1934 in Chamberlain, South Dakota. He graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1952 and then joined the National Guard in 1953. During high school, Jerry worked for his lifelong friends Roy and Wanda Swanson on their farm in South Dakota. Jerry spent over 40 years in the insurance business. He worked for several companies before starting his own agency, Vosberg Insurance Agency. After his retirement from the insurance business he was the post master at Malmstrom AFB. In 1964, he married Linda Minckler and they had a full house with three of a kind and a pair, Todd (Lori) Vosberg, Jay Vosberg, Brett Vosberg and fiancé Kerrie Mountan, Kristi (Peter) Tompers, and Kellee (Kevin) Leishman; his grandchildren, Stephen Vosberg, Tristan Thompson, Jason Davis, Erika and Ryan Vosberg, Kolby Cozad, Haley and Caleb Tompers, and Ella and Max Leishman brought him much joy as their beloved “Papa;” as well as, sister Wanda Jensen; and niece Jennifer Harris. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and Swan Lake was always a special place to him. He spent many years traveling to South Dakota for his annual pheasant hunting trips. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, and golfing throughout the years. He was a devoted Griz and Mariners fan. Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He loved to make people smile and always had a twinkle in his eye. He was our hero, our father, and our papa.
