Harry R. "Mac" Mckinsey

Harry Richard McKinsey Mac, 86, of Great Falls, a retired Chief Master Sargent in the USAF, passed away on 28 December 2015 at his daughters residence in Valley Center, California. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, 13 August 2016 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Avenue North, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery with full Military Honors. Mac was born in Clarion, PA, January 17, 1929 and raised on the family farm with his eight sisters and brothers. He joined the USAF in 1948 and retired to his Great Falls home in 1976 with his wife June and daughter Karen. He had tours of duty in Alaska, England, Vietnam, Portugal, Ohio, Oklahoma, California, North Dakota and Great Falls, Montana. Macs military honors include the Vietnam Service Award and Campaign Medal, AF Achievement and Commendation Medal, two Unit Presidential Citations and the Bronze Star Award. Mac worked for Park Place Nursing Home as the facility manager, until the death of his wife, June in 1996. June was the love of his life and followed his travels around the world. Mac was an avid golfer and enjoyed the company of his golf partners Terry, Roger, Bruce and Clay. He was very proud of his two hole-in-ones at Eagle Falls and R.O. Speck Municipal Golf Courses. He also enjoyed his many fishing adventures with Larry. Mac is survived by his daughters, Karen and Judith of Valley Center, California and two granddaughters Elise June (E.J.) and McKinsey. Lastly, thank you to our wonderful Great Falls neighbor Mrs. G for her kindness, caring and delicious baked goods that always made Macs day when the doorbell rang. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society fight against lung cancer, at PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
