Harvey R. Hansen, 71, of Great Falls, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 28, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Born in Britton, South Dakota, Harvey was the oldest of nine and a dedicated family man. He loved spending time with his parents, siblings, and the family he created with his wife of 48 years; as well as many friends, enjoying all Montana had to offer. He attended Belt Valley High School. Throughout his career, Harvey worked as a Construction Superintendent for companies, such as: Tamietti, Truchot, Jurasek, and Volk Construction. Many of Harvey’s career and structural accomplishments stand today, including the Heart Butte and Belgrade schools, the Great Falls Civic Center, and many bridges throughout Montana. He shared his talents and skill readily, tutoring his son Todd and several young carpenters in refining their abilities. Harvey was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He was a generous, kind hearted and passionate soul who was always ready for a good conversation, a good belly laugh and did all he could to help those in need, from helping low income students get warm jackets for winter to helping friends in any capacity they needed. Harv was always up for the challenge and ready to help.He enjoyed fishing, hunting and driving in his truck with the window down, feeding squirrels and ducks and smiling and waving at everyone he came into contact with and made friends easily. Harvey is survived by his wife Ginny Hansen; son Todd (Kaleen) Hansen; daughter, Brandy; granddaughters Brooke and Hunter Hansen; his two beloved doxies Ole' and Sam; and siblings Gary (Denise), David (Deanna), Jerry (Leanne), Craig, Barbara, and Charlotte (John) Harasymczuk. He was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Alfred Hansen; and brothers Wayne and Edward.
