Harvey "Keith" Mckelvey

June 6, 1929 — June 13, 2018

Harvey K. McKelvey of Great Falls passed away June 13, just a week past his 89th birthday. His life will be remembered for the huge impact he made on the lives of others and the love he had for his family. He had an unending hunger to help others in need and to spread the word of God. During his career supporting the Long-Distance Telephone network across the highline of Montana, he had the opportunity to spend a year in Nigeria. He helped develop that country’s telephone network and spread the word of God across that hungry nation. After his retirement he made several trips to China developing many deep relationships and helping all those who crossed his path. His passion to help bring as many to Christ as he could, never faltered. He was cherished for his wisdom, biblical insights and mentorship. He would speak at length of his spiritual experiences and would light up the room. We know that he is sitting at the foot of God the Father and enjoying the presence he spoke of so often. Harvey was the second son of Harvey J. and Wanda B. McKelvey. He had 10 siblings, all but 3 have preceded him in death. His wife Marlene also preceded him in death. He is survived by his 5 children, Marilyn Cornelius, Doug McKelvey, Steve McKelvey, Terri Parsons, and Rose Ann Friedrich; 12 loving grandchildren, many of whom were able to hold his hand in his final days and 14 great-grandchildren. His life will be celebrated during a service at the Central Assembly of God on Friday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m.He will be interred in the Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston with military honors on June 23 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to Peace Hospice in Great Falls for their loving care.
