Henry James Politz, 84, of Great Falls, passed away of natural causes on July 19, 2015. Visitation will be available for family and friends on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at OConnor Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. Burial with full Military Honors will take place at Highland Cemetery following the service. A reception will follow at Peace Lutheran Church. Henry was born on December 3, 1930 in Englewood, New Jersey to parents Henry Carl Politz and Elsie M. Politz. Henry grew up in New Jersey, after high school graduation he enlisted into the United States Air Force. Henry met the love of his life in 1949, Katherine Pelroy in Everett, WA. They were married on March 3, 1951, celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary this past March. Together Henry and Kathy raised 4 children. Henry served 23 years in the military, retiring in North Carolina and then moving to Great Falls in 1974. He finished his working career at the Columbus Hospital, retiring after 15 years. Henry was a true family man; he enjoyed time with his children. Many occasions he was found wrestling on the living room floor with his 4 children. His favorite was supporting his children in their athletic activities. Henry loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Henry is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Politz; daughter Tracy Leach of Great Falls; sons Michael (Diane) Politz of Lacey, WA, Steven Politz of Spanaway, WA, and Robert (Susie) Politz of Great Falls; grandchildren Kimberly (Travis) Lauricella of Lakewood, WA, Steve (Loretta) Politz of Roy, WA, Tracy Osborn of Lacey, WA, Danny Surniski of Olympia, WA, Rikki (Matt) Carlson of Rainer, WA, Thomas Broaddus of Great Falls, Jared Leach of Great Falls, Kathleen (Josh) Gleason of Grand Forks, ND, Summer (Chris) Varrasse of Portland, OR, and Sean (Sarah) Politz of Portland, OR; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elsie; mother-in-law Martha Dunbar; sister in-law Elaine St. Amand; brother-in-law Allen Parce; and daughter-in-law Linda Politz.
