Jack Denney

January 31, 1944 — June 15, 2014

Jack Hewitt Denney, 70, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2014 from a massive brain hemorrhage at Benefis Hospital. A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 4 pm at the Moose Lodge in Conrad. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Jack was born January 31, 1944 in Conrad to Robert and Denise Denney. He later married Jean Denning and they raised Jack and six siblings on the ranch east of Conrad. Jack married JoAnn Hofland in 1963 and they had one daughter, Viki. They later divorced. In 1969 he married Penny Moench and they had two daughters, Dena and Kim. They divorced in 1988. He has spent the last 20 years with his best friend and companion, Mary Henry and became the proud stepfather to two more daughters, January and Tuesday. Jack loved hunting, fishing, camping, his animals, and his family. He had an amazing sense of humor and was an auction junkie. Jack went out with his boot on, irrigation boots that is. He was an active farmer and rancher up to the day he passed. He was best known for his generous heart, his friendship, his turned up hat bill, and his contagious laugh and smile. He never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by many. Jack is survived by his daughters, Viki (Miles) Stansbury, Dena (Jim) Fritz, Kim (Kevin) Cicon, January Henry, and Tuesday Henry; siblings Sharon Jung, Ronnie Denney, Sande Carr, Peggy Taylor, Dick Denney, and Terrilei Crosgrove; mom Jean Denney; grandchildren Preslie (Reid) Fleming, Jake Fritz, Jack Fritz, Madison Cicon, Miah Steely, Zakary Steely, and Rosie Steely; six great-grandsons; and many special nieces and nephews.
