James W Fagg Jr.

October 8, 1959 — October 3, 2015

James William Fagg Jr. died peacefully and surrounded by love at Peace Hospice on October 3, 2015 in Great Falls at the age of 55. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at OConnor Memorial Chapel. Cremation has taken place under the direction of OConnor Funeral Home. Jim was born on October 8, 1959 in Savannah, Georgia to Jim Fagg Sr. and Patricia Atkinson. He received his GED while serving in the Marine Corps. He was married to Ladawna Nelson briefly and their daughter Amanda was born in 1982. Jim spent his childhood in California at Beale Air Force Base. His family moved to Great Falls in 1974. He always felt that Montana was his true home. He worked long term at both JBs Restaurant and Vans IGA. He spent more than a decade caring for his mother in her home until she passed away in 2006. We remember Jim as a father first. His daughter and grandchildren were the lights of his life. He was also a loving and committed son and brother. Jim had many hobbies over his life and he derived great enjoyment from learning about them. He loved to trap, fish, prospect, golf, and ride his bicycle. He enjoyed spending hours reading books and maps, planning his Montana adventures. He was a spiritual man who yearned to be outdoors. God was very important to him, as was reading his Bible. Jim listened to and collected music for many years. He loved his dogs who were his constant companions. Jim spent the last four years of his life at Golden Eagles Plaza, where the staff lovingly and patiently cared for him. He is remembered by them for his bright smile and sparkling eyes. Jim is survived by his daughter Amanda Meier; son-in-law Bernie Meier; grandchildren Bennett and Vivian; father Jim (Jan Hemmingway) Fagg Sr.; siblings Kathy (Rod) Stevens, Jennifer (Dave) Sutherland, Joe (Terri) Williams, Suzi (Kirk) Cosand, Ken Michael, and Mary (Don) Wilhelms; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Fagg. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to National Ataxia Foundation at https://www.ataxia.org/giving/default.aspx or Peace Hospice, P.O.
