James C. Gilmore Jr., 70, passed away Thursday morning November 30, 2017, with his loving family at his side.He had struggled with heart and lung problems for some time. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on May 22, 1947, the first of two children born to James C. Gilmore Sr. and Callie Gregory Gilmore. After High School he entered the U.S. Navy and later became a long haul truck driver.He and his father were also glaziers whom he worked alongside in Hawaii putting many windows in the larger hotels there.He retired from truck driving in 2000 and moved to Montana to be closer to his sister.He worked for Kalispell Walmart, Idaho timber and the Missoulian delivering papers until ill health forced his full retirement. While in Kalispell he met the love of his life Susan Kingsland and they shared 12 years together. He enjoyed his bowling and looked forward to his Thursday Senior League at the Great Falls Elks. Jim is survived by his long time love Susan Kingsland;sister Sharon Y. Gilmore of Marion, Montana; cousin Burl Gregory of California; other cousins; and his loving and faithful cat Smoky that he was so crazy about.They were inseparable and brought him great joy. At his request cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private service at a later date. The family wishes to thank Peace Hospice, especially Gina Dale for their kind care and support.
