James "Jim" William Way, 88, left us on November 20, 2017 with his children and grandchildren by his side after a long illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 25th at 11 AM at the VFW Post 1087, 4125 10th Ave South. Jim was born on April 26, 1929 as the third child of Fred and Minnie Way in Exeland, WI.He grew up helping on the family farm while learning to hunt and fish. This love of the outdoors continued with him throughout his long life. At the age of 18, Jim joined the Army Air Corps serving his country until 1968 when he retired from the military and began his second career with the US Customs Service. In 1952, he married the love of his life, Marion Walhovd later welcoming children Brian and Brenda in 1962 and 1964. Although Jim and Marion moved all over the country, they decided Great Falls was the place to raise their family and provided an idyllic life for their children. In 1988 Jim retired and he and Marion helped provide the same childhood experience to their grandchildren Courtney and Max until Marion’s passing in 1992.
