James "Ed" Weatherly

November 21, 1936 — January 27, 2018

James "Ed" Weatherly, 81, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Peace Hospice. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Big Sky Baptist Church, 2925 9th Avenue South, Great Falls. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Havre at a later date. Ed was born November 21, 1936 in Weatherly Hall County, Texas to Chester and Mattie Weatherly. Ed and his wife, Maureen, made their home in Havre, Montana where Ed was a Lease Operator at Devon Energy. After his retirement, they moved to Great Falls. Ed was a faithful Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed following the Voyager’s baseball team. He and Maureen were active members of Big Sky Baptist Church. Ed is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maureen; daughters Sherry (Tim) Snelson, Kelly Harris, Keri Howie, and Karlene Howie; son Kevin (Rochelle) Howie; brothers Lee Roy (JoElla) Weatherly and Bob (Reva) Weatherly; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Colleen Beauchamp and Wiladeen Weatherly; daughter Darla Chagnon; son Jamie Weatherly; brother Jerry Weatherly; and grandson Ryder Howie. Memorials may be given to Big Sky Baptist Church, 2925 9th Avenue South, Great Falls MT 59405 or Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633 or online at alz.org.
