Jason Allen Poirier, 42, passed away at his residence in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 10, 2021, of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at Living Grace Church (3525 1st Ave N., Great Falls, MT) on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Jason was born on K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Michigan on July 6, 1978, the youngest of three children to Karen (Mills) Thomas and Arthur Poirier. He is a 1996 graduate of Great Falls High School and attended Montana Technological University. Jason is divorced with one son. A joyful and fierce competitor, Jason spent most of his younger years playing football, basketball, softball, and competed in bowling and track and field. He was an avid angler and animal lover. Later in life, Jason volunteered his time coaching youth basketball, softball, and flag football. He also coached with the Great Falls Gladiators Football Team. Most recently, Jason spent over 12 years working in the Hospitality Industry. He had an infectious zest for life and was hands-down a “people person.” Jason was always known to be the guy who knew no strangers and would lend a hand to anyone in need, no questions asked. The pride and joy of Jason’s daily life, and his greatest accomplishment, was his son, Jensen Allen Poirier. Jason is survived by his parents, William and Karen Thomas; sister, Kelley (Tracy) Bushong-Traver; brother, Jeremy (Nadera) Poirier; son, Jensen (Hallie) Poirier; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; and an expected granddaughter.
